The participating students had chosen a word several days in advance, with parental approval, and dressed up at the beginning of the day. Students lined up by class and stepped on a small stage for the students (and participating teachers) to walk across while the media specialist said their vocabulary word into a microphone for all students to hear. Then students walked around the driveway where non-participating students and teachers were cheering for them and learning new words as well!
